Dear All Network Gurus, I am using nevada 35 for in house development and testing.
Our company is using Solaris OE for mission critical applications. We need very low latency with IPC - Inter process communication. Currently we are using TCP/IP sockets for inter process communication. In a recent test we experienced 60 us (microsecond) latency while sending simple message from one thread to another. Just wake up message sending in 1 second interval. We used NO_DELAY socket option. GCC 3.4.3 / SunFire X4600 / Solaris 10 11/06 was used to compile and test. Could please let me know any alternative to sockets, which has lower latency and high throughput than socket. Even with socket; what kind of TCP/IP tunable parameters can be tuned to get maximum performance with Solaris. Please help me regarding this simple question? Thankx Regards Tharindu -- Unix : Live Free or Die. ******************************************************************************************************************************************************************* "The information contained in this email including in any attachment is confidential and is meant to be read only by the person to whom it is addressed.
