Yep, these are pretty standard. I've noticed that the GUI tends to replace the hostname with the IP address in hostname.nge0, it mangles /etc/hosts, netmasks has the hostname in it (I've not seen that before), and the dns entry for hosts in nsswitch.conf seems to have gotten wiped. I did all of these files manually before resorting to the GUI. When that didn't work, I figured maybe the GUI was setting something up elsewhere, but after trying the GUI several times, I'm completely stumped as to what's gotten changed in snv's network configuration.
