at least for me. This points out a weakness to not finishing the versioning
when you first tag. Since everyone else is working on patches to 2.0.23, they
don't yet go into the version log.
If we are going to try this method again, the version has got to be bumped when
we tag. If we _must_ branch to get fixes in, then so be it (e.g. branch CHANGES
and so on since both 2.0.23 and 2.0.22-dev have changes going in/on.)
