Danny,
Not sure what your problem is here as I didn't have to set anything
up for my keyboard.

I added this line to my /etc/fstab file:

  /dev/scd0  /mnt/cd  iso9660  ro,nosuid,nodev  0  0

and then in /mnt I created a new directory called cd with the mkdir
command:   mkdir cd

in /mnt I now have four or five directories, including one for my
scsi ZIP drive which had to be setup as 
   /dev/sdb4  /mnt/zip  vfat defaults 0  0

You need to find the executable file and drag it to the desktop
and then select 'Link'.  You can also drag it to the bar across
the bottom of the KDE desktop screen.  Works slick.
