Okay folks,

I'm getting hacked off with this now, so it's time for post. I have an
SBLive which was working perfectly under the basic Mandrake 6 install (ie
2.2.9-19 kernel and basic esound + audio RPMS).

I decided to upgrade the kernel and then apply all the updates, then i
started to get problems. My sound no longer works when i try to start X -
the speakers just violently click away to themselves (i don't know if audio
works in a terminal as i never use one - what app could i try to find out?).

I'm about to 'downgrade' first the sound related RPMs and then the kernel
RPMs. That is if i can find them on the Mandrake site - i keep leaving the
CD at work !

If that doesn't work does anyone know what else could be broken (quite
honestly if that doesn't work then it has me beat as it was upgrading them
that broke my setup in the first place!!).

Has anyone else had any luck with all the upgrades and the SBLive module
(with the '-f' to force it).

Thanks for any help, this is starting to dive me nuts (as well as this
laptop keyboard!).

Martin.
