I had a similar problem - fix was a little simpler.
As far as I remember (it was 1 am a week ago);

become superuser, and look in the directory where the file was expected.
The file existed, but doing an ls -l suggested it wasn't readable. I think I chmod 'd 
it
to be generally readable and the installation continued...

worth checking for similar if you get the problem again.
