[newbie] LILO

I go through the entire install process to instal Linux Mandrake 6. I get done and I reboot. Right when LILO should start I start getting screens full of 01 01 01 01 01 01 01 etc..   Can anyone help me. I tride Redhat Linux 5 and it did the same thing. I wondered if anyone knew about this...
