One other thing to check is your BIOS setup for the hard drives. Mine
offers me three choices for addressing the hard drive geometry --
normal, LBA, and CHS (or something like that). If I change it from one
to another, it will spit up errors like the ones you mention. Try
modifying the BIOS setup for the drive in question and see if anything
changes...
