then skip the modules screen and

select

aic7xxx_old

for your SCSI driver.  Adaptec changed the drivers back in April of 2001 
for the aic7xxx series and you are trying to use the current driver with 
the old driver firmware.  Another option is to simply upgrade the BIOS 
on your PCChips boardif they have issued for the more recent version of 
the Adaptec controller.
