means your card or monitor manufacture does not support the particular 
refresh rates at that particular resalultion.
 it is worth noteing that while winblows just will not display beyond the 
manufacturers specs, I have (on occasion) toasted a good monitor by extended 
running beyond the manufacturer's specs. (gee it says it only gets 1200x1700 
at 85 hz, but here it is running for three days at 1200x1700 at 70 hz, ,,, 
POP, szzzzzz, wow what was that, and why don't it come back on?)
