No, it's a little more complicated than that -- the same resolution can have several different refresh rates depending on some of the characteristics of your monitor and your preferences. You can change these in the file (forget the name) that contains the mode lines, as long as you know what you're doing (don't change a mode line to one that will damage your monitor). AFAIK, the <ctrl><alt>+ and - merely cycle through the various mode lines set up in that file (or maybe a subset of those mode lines??). Randy Kramer
