I have mdk 9.
I have libsane1, sane-backends installed automatically.
Then I installed xsane with dependencies.
I have edited /etc/sane.d/dll.conf to have
[root@lvghomepc lvgandhi]# cat /etc/sane.d/dll.conf
# enable the next line if you want to allow access through the network:
#net
umax_pp

I have the following line in /etc/modules.conf
alias parport_lowlevel parport_pc
Still I don't find parport module in lsmod.
When I do modprobe parport_pc, I get
parport_pc 21672 0
parport 23936 0 [parport_pc]
then
[root@lvghomepc lvgandhi]# xsane umax_pp:0x378
[umax_pp_low] TestVersion(0) (umax_pp_low.c:4412) failed ...
Also I get msg box Failed to open device umax_pp:0x378
Invalid Argument.
What to do?
