I think this thread is way off-topic. Nevertheless, let me try to get it back on trail : 1. Guns, knives, axes or nuclear bombs don't commit crimes. People do. 2. In the US anyone can own a firearm legally (as far as I understand) and the crime rate is considerable. 3. In the Scandinavian countries (where I live) it's illegal for ordinary citizens to own firearms. But nobody cares, because we don't care about the law anymore. Almost every man has a firearm of some sort,but doesn't maintain it properly (we are lazy). The crime rate is considerable and rising. 4. In Switzerland every man is obliged to have a military-style firearm at arm's length. The crime rate is almost nil. So much for *hardware* - *software* is more interesting, so here comes a few questions to all you Americans : 1. How come that *the land of the free and the home of the brave* allowed one single company to enable every fascist/communist/corrupt/totalitarian government to peruse the harddisks of its citizens ? 2. How come that that same nation's *Department Of Justice* engages the blinders every time that same company violates court rulings ? 3. How come that the average John Doe pays that same company big bucks to video-tape him, pants down ? 4. How come, that you have deranged yourself to the European standards of submission, obedience and slavery ? Luckily, we all have an alternative : let those totalitarian, communist, fascist and corrupt governments copulate with their M$-friends and let's use OPEN SOURCE SOFTWARE.
