In a traditional symphony orchestra, the violins are always on the listener's 
left, the violas straight ahead, the cellos to the right of them and ther 
basses on the far right. Beyond that, I'm not familiar with any other form of 
music in which the placement of the musicians is standardized. In talk radio, 
Rush Limbaugh is always on the right and Al Franken can only be heard on the 
left (American political joke).

What John really needs is a video of a ping pong game.
