You need to get the nvidia kernel modules as well as GLX (but the latter 
probably installed already).

To get a window (without 3D and TV-out) at boot:
Boot into failsafe and edit the /etc/X11/F86Config-4 file.
Look for the line (in Section "Device") that says:
Driver "nvidia" and change it to Driver "nv"

Save the file and reboot.

That way you'll have a screen to boot into and go and search the web for the 
nvidia-installer (at nvidia.com) or the nvidia-kernel.rpm.

BTW: for editing and searching files mc (midnight commander) is an easy tool.
It isn't installed by default so install it first (if you want to) whilst in 
failsafe....
urpmi mc
is the command;)
