You need to get the nvidia kernel modules as well as GLX (but the latter probably installed already). To get a window (without 3D and TV-out) at boot: Boot into failsafe and edit the /etc/X11/F86Config-4 file. Look for the line (in Section "Device") that says: Driver "nvidia" and change it to Driver "nv" Save the file and reboot. That way you'll have a screen to boot into and go and search the web for the nvidia-installer (at nvidia.com) or the nvidia-kernel.rpm. BTW: for editing and searching files mc (midnight commander) is an easy tool.
