I've been at this every which way I can think of and I can't figure out why
RealPlayer is not doin' what it should...
I installed RealPlayer 8 from their site, but when I go to install the
mozilla-realplayer plugin from texstar (ya, I know it's for 9.1, but his Flash
plugin worked so I figured...) I get "Realplayer 8 not installed", so I have to
install the plugin with --nodeps.
I would very much like to get this workin', esp for this site:
http://www.comedycentral.com/dailyshow/videos_headlines.jhtml
...but when I click on the links I get the error that Realplayer is not
installed. It *could* be a prob with the site, but with the error I'm getting
from installing the mozilla plugin, I'm suspicious about the way the Realplayer
RPM is installed, perhaps in the wrong dir? I have tried it on other sites, like
the IBM ads, and still no go.
Some info:
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~>$rpm -qa | grep real real-codecs-1.2-1plf mozilla-realplayer-1.4-1tex
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~>$rpm -qa | grep Real RealPlayer-8.0-1
[EMAIL PROTECTED]:~>$which realplay /usr/X11R6/bin/realplay
As always, any assistance greatly appreciated!
Hi Joel,
Here is what I have done in the past (I did not use the RealPlayer RPM). After installing Real Player (8) there is an object named rpnp.so located in /usr/lib/RealPlayer8/. Copy rpnp.so into your plugins directory. I am using Galeon 1.3.3 and Firebird 0.7 and both work with the RealPlayer plugin.
