Actually, ad based support can actually make P2p work for media producers. Imagine an mp3, contains a 30 second or varied length ad in the beginning or end of the song. You can edit the mp3 to remove the ad but you need to listen to it at least once to get around to removing it. Artist makes money through sponsorship, consumer gets access to media, everybody is happy. Real and other video based goods can be handled the exact same way. Stick the ad in, let the consumer remove it at will but they watch it at least once so the producer gets compensated. -- Bryan Phinney Software Test Engineer
