Hmm, I wonder why? I certainly don't want my via8233 soundchip non
functional in M10 when I get there.
did you use the same alias line as my example ?

Having had this same problem I thought it was time to give something back.
The switching to the oss driver works well, but you also have to make sure
that all the mixer setting are right.
I found that you had to go through each mixer one by one. kmix and aumix.
