e.

Not always,

I can pick up M$ WinXP OEM at my wholesaler, comes with the normal book, license, and the CD which has XP, service pack 1, and most of the updates all slipsteamed onto the CD...

Its been ages since I had a need to sell one.. but its certainly possible.

The thing is, when you buy a PC, or help someone else buy one, if you/they really want XP, make sure that you find a reseller that offers the Full CD with the machine..

All the big names like Dell, IBM, Toshiba, HP etc seem to offer the damn recovery CD's.. because in their minds it cuts down on support issues as they have all the drivers and such on them..

problem is that by the time you get the CD, the drivers are all out of date anyway.

Its the little guys that you will get the proper CD from, the big guys will do anything to not have to talk to you support wise.
(and most often when you call them you get some guy in India how only has the vaguest idea who he's working for and what language he needs to be speaking.)

ok, yes, maybe I am a touch cynical about the big guys. :-)
