I suspect that if I dig around the Intel web site that I may find one to work. Even though the information at the intel web site says that if it is a board that they made for a OEM they will offer NO support.

Seems like your best chance.
Odds on bet that Intel know about the bios gateway supply, and to some
extent are embarrassed by it. I suspect that Intel will have a bios upgrade
that works to eliminate the gateway crap bios. I bet the board is a fairly
standard Intel board and can be given a better bios programme.
Anyway if this were my board I would go and ask Intell what is the
best bios they have for this board, and you need to make sure that
they have details of exactly the make model and serial number
of your board. You can try downloading a few inteligent guesses
but you will have to have experience with installing and retrieving
bios update situations to play with them. If you do , buy yourself
a spare bios chip, they don't cost much and install your new experimental
bioses onto that first, that way you only have to swap the original back
to be back running again. I did this recently, and learnt how to do
this so it's not difficult really. A bit scary first off, but I should of
bought my spare chip first, you can buy them from websites.
