At a guess I would say your router is already working, but networking in
Mandrake is not. The lights on the front of the router should tell you its
status.

If your router was already configured for use with Windows, then it should not
need reconfiguring for Linux.

If you cannot reach the router admin when you enter 10.0.0.2 in a browser URL
line, then that implies networking between your Computer and Linux is not
working. Fix that before worrying about your ADSL connection.

I am not familiar with that model, is it this one ?

That router supports either USB or Ethernet connection to the computer.
USB connection in Linux is probably possible, but I have no experience of
setting it up. Ethernet connection should work very well, so if you are not
currently using Ethernet I recommend you try attaching an Ethernet cable.

Your Ethernet port on your Linux machine should be set up for DHCP. Use the
Mandrake Control Centre >Network>Gui to check the configuration.
If the connection is good then your Ethernet interface should get an IP
address from the router, and you should be able to connect to the router
setup screen.
