If I were you, I'd look into /var/log/messages (that's the message log when
booting up). it'll give reasons if there are any problems. And I understand
how you feel, i've got pretty much the same problem on my laptop. I'm gonna
be upgrading to mandrake 7.02, do a recompile of the kernel and move the new
system-map to the /etc directory aqnd HOPE that that solves my problem! :)
