yep, it's a burner, and mandrake set it up correctly using scsi emulation.
try "insmod ide-scsi" then try accessing the burner as /dev/scd0
I have seen a few other folks with this problem in some of the linux
newsgroups. Seems Mandrake correctly detects it as a burner, but the ide-scsi
module is not loaded. Would be nice if they added the insmod line ro rc.local
during installation or perhaps provided a kernel that had the driver included
in it. (hint.. hint..)
