Sorry to say, don't expect to get alot done without reading a ton, and
learning how stuff works!
Most of the linux installs are VERY easy if you know a little about what
your doing and what everything means. (thus, the reading part). Its very
easy to set linux up on your second 2gig drive and dual boot
win/linux. What parts of the install were you having trouble with?
Mandrake and redhat install almost the same. (Different interfaces is the
only real difference)
If you dont want to learn linux, than it isn't your OS.
For audio editing, i recommend BeOS. Its an OS designed for audio/video
editing. They just released it free to download (40mb). Its brainless to
install and use, however not as functional as Linux/Windows. But it is very
stable. Give BeOS a try at http://www.free.be.com if you dont wanna read
about linux.
