Put the file *.tar.gz in a folder. CD to that folder, and type this... "tar
-zxvf *.tar.gz". That will extract it. Once it is extracted, you can look
for either a configure file, or an install file.

Dear All, I went to the KDE2 webpage and found the KDE thememanager in
tar form and downloaded. Now, I do not know how to untar and install.
That is something I have never been able to do yet. Could someone help
me with this step by step? I have already looked up the tar lists and
