[newbie] Installation problems

hello,

I have a problem installing mandrake 8. when I finish installting the RPMs I
get "ldconfig failed", and I get taken back to the hard drive partitoning
screen. Has anoyone had a similar problem or know how I can fix this?

My setup is as follows:
AMD K6-2 at 550 mhz, 224mb of ram, Voodoo 5, Onboard Davicom 9102 lan
adapter, C-Media CMI8738/C3DX onbaord audio, Aptai CD-rom at 36x, two
mandrake cds downloaded and burned (cd's 1 and 2).
