Are you using Mandrake 7.2 or below? These are built for GLIBC 2.1, not the
GLIBC 2.2 that Mandrake 8.0 and Red Hat 7.0/7.1 are built for. You can do one
of the following:

* Upgrade to Mandrake 8 (or any other distro with GLIBC 2.2);
* Find a binary package for GLIBC 2.1; or
* Rebuild the package from source (tarball or src.rpm).
