On March 22, 2002 01:12 am, Civileme spake thusly: Well, you could put a mirror with the 8.2 packages on your update list with Software Manager, and check what you want to update and do that until you are at 8.2, but that would be a painful experience, though it would (eventually) work. Software manager installs groups of packages that require or depend on each other much like apt-get. Another and better way is to find a mirror that has the 8,2 packages and look in /images and download network.img then dd if=network.img of=/dev/fd0 and boot from that floppy, once again identifying the site and the directory that has the Mandrake RPMS as your source. You can then install or update as you choose, and you can select additional packages, but all your currently installed packages would be updated. (Except the kernel which would be installed.)
