It may be that a default msec setup is clobbering your dcop setup files
If that is the case, a fresh install is in order unless you want to follow some complicated instructions. But before you try that... Open a terminal from BB As user, not root rm -r ~/.kde -f rm -r ~/.gnome -f logout login on kde or gnome Civileme
