No. Unless you live also im the middle of nowhere, but obviously you don�t.
There is still room here, only 80-90 people live in and around the village. Once upon a time, in the 1800s, it had 400 inhabitants but if we reach 100, I think I shall move out :-)

You said that the proposed satellite service was a French government initiative. As Mandriva is based in France, perhaps someone on the Mandriva staff is already aware of the project - after all, it is in their interest that as many people as possible should be able to use Mandriva Linux! They probably don't read the newbie mailing list, but you could contact their office via the website and ask them.
