A year ago, I've bought a "Mandrake 9.2 PowerPack" box and tried to
install it on a Dell (P IV) machine.
During the installation process, the CD-ROM drive dead, and I needed to
buy an other one the finally got Windows XP install on it...
Mandrake support tech said that it was a coincidence...
Today, as I have an other Dell machine that I would like to run Linux
on, I tried to install "Madrake 9.2" on it...and then, during the
install process, the CD-Rom trun off...definitively...
Is Mandrake 9.2 know as a CD_Rom drive killer ?
