Wireless broadband has officially hit our tiny little town! (although telstra won't give them the fibre optics so we're sharing a satellite dish at the moment)
Is anyone out there using/had any success with any floppy router distros? I'm playing with freesco at the moment without much luck. I'm about to get flooded with people wanting me to set up their computers for 'Bushcom'. It uses DHCP and cannot be used on a network with static IP's (as far as I can tell) My thoughts are: get an old 486 with two NIC's, a floppy distro to act as a firewall/router with DHCP on one card and static IP on the other card. How does my theory look? can anyone suggest a good distro for this purpose? -Aidan P.S. Regarding my post about RedHat and satellite, that's still a work in progress, I'm trying to get the boss to use this new Bushcom service, but he's hell bent on getting our satellite going again. Don't see why because the hardware for Bushcom didn't cost us a cracker (Government subsidy)
