Hi Fajar,
Won't I need a dialup connection to download wvdial? I searched the 4CD's that came with LE 2005 without finding "wvdial". Can I download it to a CD with my Windows
box and then install it from the CD in the Mandrake box?
I still have the two disk Mandrake Powerpack 10.1. Can that be used?

Anne and Fajar,
Here is a more complete log file.

Hi Owen,
Can you try using wvdial to dial it? It will detect your modem too.
Open a console as root, then install wvdial (urpmi wvdial), then configure it:
wvdialconf -f /etc/wvdial.conf

It will try to scan the modem. If it successfully finds it, it will show in /etc/wvdial.conf

You can then put in the username, phone number, and password of the dialup account. And to connect to it just type: wvdial

Pls do tail -f /var/log/messages while doing all that command to see if there's any more errors.
