Strange. It works fine here on both a fresh install, and an upgrade
from 10.1. A couple of things you can try. Run "rpm -V
mc-4.6.1-0.pre3.2mdk" to make sure the install is good. Also, what do
you get what to you get when you type "type mc"?

"rpm -V..." produces no results, so it's propably ok and after "type mc"
i get:
mc is aliased to `. /usr/share/mc/bin/mc-wrapper.sh'
I'm running in circles :-) mc is necesary for me.
