Actually, there is supposed to be a solution now to the problem of writing to NTFS file systems: Captive NTFS. I can't vouch for it, but it's included in the recent versions of Knoppix, so it probably works. It works along the same lines as ndiswrapper for wireless cards, by wrapping the Windoze driver with a Linux driver. Thus, it doesn't have to know the internals of NTFS, it only has to know the driver api, which is published. Of course, you have to have a working version of Windoze with NTFS support installed first, but then if you don't have that, why would you waste your time with NTFS anyway? -- Ron ronhd at users dot sourceforge dot net Opinions expressed here are all mine.
