Don't get me wrong, there's nothing wrong with using GUI tools, that's how I do most of what I do, but I don't need my CPU and RAM tied up with 20 instances of kdeinit to run my MUA and browser just so I can do something fancy like SuperKaramba or have flashy icons or have my WM take more than 30 seconds just to start :-\ </incoherent rant> There's some of us still on 'ancient' hardware (P3 866 or lower) that just don't want all that gunk on my desktop.
