[newbie] ReiserFS says HDD is dead

Hi.

 

My Mandrake PC won't boot any more. It has a 120Gb HDD and a 200Gb HDD (so they are not old).

A few days ago my PC died. I rebooted and it came back up for about 10 minutes and stopped again.

I rebooted once more and saw on the monitor that ReiserFS seems to think the HDD is dead. It says if the HDD has bad sectors it should be replaced. It's tried fsck'ing the HDD but to no avail and as a last resort gives me the option to drop to a shell and try to fix it myself.

IIRC it has 10.1 on it.

I thought I could at least recover the data with my XP machine but the ReiserFS driver for XP seems to Blue Screen of Death XP machines.

At the end of trying to boot ReiserFS says [FAILED].

 

I tried taking the HDDs out and putting them into an identical PC but I got the same errors.

 

Have I lost my HDD and data?
