" * When responding to a previous post, please prune (snip) text from
the post that is not needed to understand your contribution to the thread.

    * Don't be afraid to trim excess verbiage from the thread when it starts
to become too long. Quoting only those parts of the e-mail you are replying
to is acceptable."

I think this is just what I was suggesting. By using <snip> quote <snip> you
are telling the reader that you deleted everything above and below what you
are quoting.

I notice that few prune the previous post. Most just have their reply
settings to quote the entire message in replies [ default setting in most
mail programs ]. This is considered bad form in most lists I am on. Almost
every other list I'm on requires that you have this setting turned off.

" * Please add your part to the bottom. Since most people read top to
bottom, the flow will be much easier to understand. Also, these emails are
archived, so we can all go back and lookup old topics. Again, the mails will
be easier to read. Assuming the post has been properly pruned, there will be
very little scrolling to get to the new info.

    * For posts with multiple points, it is fine to intersperse your new
comments, with each new comment below the one it is referring to."

Posting inside the previous post becomes very confusing [ scroll up to the
post I received and sort through what I said and what you said ].

IF everyone would prune the previous post bottom posting would be fine.
HOWEVER, when the thread gets to seven or eight posts, unpruned, it just
becomes to much trouble to drill down through all that "junk" to read what
someone has to say. AND, that may just be the portion I need to figure out
my problem.

"Since most people read top to bottom". Exactly!

"display problem" ?????????????????????????????????????????????
As far as I know my display is just fine. I'm not aware of any "problem".
