If the power cycle doesn't work then the Linksys router has a "MAC
Address Clone" page where you can enter the MAC address of the machine
that used to be connected to the modem. The router then pretends to be
this to keep the ISP happy. My ISP went through some "once only"
configuration when I first plugged the modem in and it seemed like a lot
of trouble to find out how to reset all of that so I cloned the old
address instead.
Also, although my Mandriva machine picked up a DHCPed IP address, it
didn't pick up the DNS settings - I had to copy them by hand off the
Linksys Status page. Almost certainly something I did wrong, but worth
remembering in case you find you can get to the Linksys config page @
192.168.1.1 but can't get to the web outside.
