Have you tried the OSS driver as opposed to the ALSA driver??

I had a system running an Audigy (exact model escapes me now) a few years back 
under 9.2, and no way would it work with the ALSA driver....

I had to go into Harddrake, and in "run config tool", manually select the OSS 
driver....

Worked fine for me after that....

Maybe worth a shot if you havent done it already?
