I agree. I like to tinker, but more importantly, i like the extra tools and configurability. And when I'm not in the tinkering mood, I want to be able to install it all and have it work. I know windows doesn't always install well, but really, look at all the tech questions that pop up here that are installation related. How many times do we upgrade to a new version, and have to debug stuff that was working previously? If we could get the out of the box workability to live next to the immense tweakability, that would be awesome. And i think it's "just" a matter of trying it out on enough systems.
