I am looking for an explanation of how to install bin files in Linux. I downloaded a file, used chmod to change the permissions to make it executable, but I don't know where to go with it next.
Thank you,

in Linux, the .xxx name does not hold quite the same 'power' as on a winbox. M$ products look to that last three letters to decide what type of file it is, so you may well find if what you want to know is 'how do I use a firmware file with a *.bin name', that will be a different reply. open a text console, cd to that directory and depending on a few other variables type the name of the program, if that does not work then try ./nameofprogram. if it does not work, look for a readme.
which bin file are you talking about (a driver installer?)

It is something called Electric Sensei. It is for putting randomized quotes into a signature file.

Thank you for the reply. I think the ./nameofprogram got me a little closer. It looks like the bin file is not an installer, but is the executable itself.
