First, this game doesn't *require* a joystick, does it? If so, that might be 
the problem - although I can't imagine a Linux game that absolutely requires 
one. :-)

Just another thought - do you have all the SDL stuff installed? I've had some 
games do that because I didn't have a particular package of SDL installed. 
You might want to do a "urpmi sdl" and see all the packages it lists, then 
install them.
