Funny story, as Jon Stewart would say. So I drop out of X, disconnect the old monitor, connect up all the cables for the new LCD display, my 5 yr old daughter, the genius, is watching me. I hit the power button on the new display. Black screen. Nothing. I panic. I'm gonna lose it (surely not me!)...when, my daughter, bless her heart, hits a key on the keyboard. Text mode comes up.
