[newbie] dual boot to XP after new install? help, please...

Hi all,
 When I boot and choose Windows, all I get is a Windows 98 C prompt.
 Can someone help me and tell me how I can configure Mandriva to recognize XP? 
I have a fresh install of XP Home on a brand new hard drive.
