Since usb is PnP complient, you should be able to unplug the usb
device directly (with the computer on) and mandriva should detect the

If you're using KDE, the latest version has much better support for USB
drives, and you can add and remove them easily. Best way to update is to
use the SoS repositories: http://www.seerofsouls.org/rpm2006.html
