Hey guys. I'm getting in late on this thread but I just caught it. I too have 
Cedega and Half-Life 2 does the same thing Joe mentioned here, on my sons 
2006 box.

It installs from the first 4 CDs just fine, then acts like it gets all 
confused when it comes to the last CD...

Haven't ever been able to install it. :-(
