Have you checked the cable? It could be damaged. Try switching it with the
cable you use for the Windoze machine. Try switching which port you plug into
as well, in case the router plug itself is bad (haven't had this yet with
RJ45 plugs, but I've had a few bent pins and broken wires with RJ11 plugs).

Is it a cross-over cable (designed for NIC to NIC connections) or a
straight-through (designed for router to NIC connections)? My router accepts
either (which surprised me when I discovered it), but I don't know if others
do.

Can you login to the router from the Windoze machine (all the ones I've used
have a web interface) and see if it can see the Linux machine? If so, does
the router agree with Mandriva on dhcp/static-ip settings?

Just some thoughts.
