That's my option..........Sub scotch&soda
Thanks, Dan
User Guest has been disabled. See your system
administrator. <sigh>
This is when I try to login as 'guest' on the win2k box.

Well, I would take that as a hint, but only if your Linux PC's are
connecting AS Guest and not as other users - ie; LEE is NOT the user
called 'guest', or for that matter, neither is the user GUEST, GuEsT.
Upper/lower case is very important here and they have to match exactly
on all computers.
As for the 'Guest' user (Notice the capital 'G'?), you can enable that
account if you're a system administrator with a quick trip into your
Control Panel>User Accounts section.
Set up a password if possible and make sure that the Guest user has
read/write access to your shares - only if needed. Be advised that this
is not a great idea, unless you give that Guest user a real password and
even then it's not really a good idea. Other mysterious things run on
Windows PC's as Guest and open a whole bunch of security holes, which
can often provide you with a lot of practice re-installing Windows! Ah!
What some people call fun!
Just pretend that this is the 'X Files' and Trust No One, specifically
Guest!
Also, make sure that SMB4K is connecting with a proper user and
password, both of which are already set up on the Windows box using the
same upper/lower case username and password. Remember to add your Linux
users on the Windows box, make sure you add and/or create the right
workgroup (it has to be the same on all your PC's, including the Windows
box) and then make sure that those users and that workgroup all have the
correct access to the shares in question by checking the permissions on
that Windows box and on those Windows shares.
Betcha thought Tuesday was gonna be an easy one, huh?
Otherwise, I second the scotch and soda thing. Is it lunch time yet?
