Tried the Mandriva 2006 Free Edition Disc today ( only as LiveCD to take
a look ) and could not get there. Screen printout between the dotted lines.

Did a vivisimo ( Clusty ) look around and could not find anything
helpful. The nearest I got was that someone had got past this point when
they turned off their graphics within the bios. I do not have such an
option within my bios ~ and it is up to date.
The system has nVIDIA GeForceGo 7300 graphics -
Turion MT34 cpu
512MB ram ( two card I believe )
Obviously, I have set it to boot from cdrom before hdd.
Also: Using the PCLOS92 LiveCD with the nVidia 7676 component, I had the
same problem but using the basic PCLOS92 LiveCD, I got through to the
desktop albeit that I could only see 75% of it from the top left corner
down. Operational though - yet it would not actual change the screen
resolution.
So, does anyone here have any practical suggestions ?
The comments about the upcoming release of 2007 intrigue me so I would
care to stay around - at 55 I will learn another distro but would rather
stay with what I know.
